The Return on Your Investment
We believe our farms will start to produce truffles from year 4/5 increasing yields to a commercial level from year 7.
And calculate that you will start to get a return on your investment for years 8 to 10 @ 10% per annum rising to 15% per annum for years 11 to 13. And from year 14 onwards we will be looking to return 16% per annum.
All profits arising from the sale of truffles up to year 8 will be split evenly between the shareholders.
The following factors should help us achieve the predicted return on your investment.
We only buy tree seedlings (oaks, hazelnuts and other species) inoculated with Tuber borchii and other truffle species from the industry leader in the field. These seedlings are checked individually to confirm the presence of the fungus and are provided with a quality guarantee that the trees are viable, abundantly colonized by the truffle ectomycorrhizae and completely free of competing truffle species
Optimum growing conditions for the black truffle are basically soil with a pH value of 7.8 to 7.9, air temperatures no more than 40 degrees Celsius in the summer and minus 6 degrees Celsius in the winter combined with a good water supply.
Our first site already has a soil pH value of 7.8 and preliminary reports for the second site are showing the same pH values.
During the drier months the fact that both sites have their own water supply and will be fitted with above ground computer controlled sprinkler systems means optimum growing conditions for our tree saplings.
Both the pH value of the soil and the mineral content of water supply will also be checked three times yearly, as well as regular pruning and weeding combining to optimize the potential yield.
We are also employing a truffle specialist on a full time basis who will live on site as well as having regular site visits from our sapling supplier.
